This is why you shouldn’t Miss A Stay at Forest Inn Tree House, Wayanad!

There are only two reasons that make you travel, they say. You are either escaping or you are looking!
I was definitely escaping when I took a trip to Wayanad. Escaping from the 9 to 5. Escaping from the news feeds. escaping from notifications, meetings, traffic, internet and practically almost everything.
When you read up blogs for travel ideas, the travel writers really annoy you! They seem to see beauty in everything, right from brushing and insects to wild animals and loneliness. Of course they are not to be blamed. They are the looking category.
It’s not really that easy to put on a travel mode on a Friday night and find the greens and browns beautiful. But still, I thought I can at least unwind and relax in nature when I started to Wayanad. But boy oh boy I was wrong! Nature! It somehow has the magic formula to get to your soul so easy and so warm!
It all started at the Forest Inn Tree House at Wayanad! How did I end up there? It was my obvious choice since I did not want the luxury and pampering of a hotel room. I didn’t come to wayanad for that. So I looked up for Tree house and Forest Inn Tree house was the first one to respond. The place seemed to be good and the price was definitely worthy. So I took it up.

I reached for the night so that I can roam around for the next day entirely. I was shown my Tree House and the Do’s and Dont’s and I immediately dozed away. I could hear the silence of the nature and hoped the look is captivating in the morning. It took some time to get adjusted to the silence and get sleep.
Early morning I was woken up by the tea and greetings from Forest Inn. Grabbed it and went to the balcony to see if it really feels like they say it does.

Hell it does! The green and browns get into you a peace and warmth so easy and quick! As I looked around let myself feel it, the seduction game of the nature started. I just couldn’t wait to get into the woods and be amongst the beauty.

Went back to the all smiling person who woke me up with chai and asked him ideas for exploration into the woods. He told me the things I should not miss and sheer excitement of his made me even more wanting.
I just started with wandering in the mountain and feeling the place. The uphill trek among fog is thrilling as well as joyful.

I came across a few local tribal people and was surprised at their hospitality. They were easy to speak with and had a nice conversation.
And then went for a walk among the plantation. Unlike my imagination, I found more of paddy than tea or coffee. Of course Paddy! That’s how the name came for Wayanad. It’s “vayal” and “Nadu”.
I also took a stroll amongst the ginger, chilli and pepper plantations. Got acquainted with the farmers and had their home tea.
After a heavy walk, I settled for a less strenuous adventure – Fishing! Yes! They have an amazing place for fishing and I was also given the required stuffs for fishing. After the fishing, went back to the Tree house and there was already a campfire setup!
A perfect ending, I thought and indulged in chat with fellow travelers.
Moral of the story: Yea! I was wrong! Even if its escapism, nature will make you look! For the beauty around and beauty inside!
